These profiles were originally engineered for a variety of high-performance applications, including eave rails on screen rooms, corner posts for pool enclosures, and eave rails on pool enclosures in high-wind regions. Their integrated screen groove eliminates the need for installers to fasten a 1x2 to the bottom of the framing member, saving time and labor on-site. While this is a premium profile, it also presents a value-added opportunity for distributors to offset the traditional 1x2 sale with a higher-margin product.

These profiles were created to fill a long-standing gap in the market—offering a true patio-style (rec tube) upright that complements "stick-built" enclosures. Ideal for full gable ends, domes, and taller structures in lower wind zones, they also meet the structural demands of higher wind areas with larger upright options for screen rooms and pool enclosures. The line also includes a rec tube beam for roof framing and a carrier beam solution behind structural gutters in select applications.

These two newly designed profiles provide a clean, finished look for any screen room or sunroom, combining the ease of installation of previous systems with the advantages of modern improvements. The updated gutter features a wider base—6.5" compared to the previous 3.5"—for enhanced water management. We also lowered the top elevation to sit below the enclosure roofline, eliminating the issues of leaf buildup and water backup commonly seen with older designs.

The 4"x 8" SMB offers clear advantages over other beams in the intermediate span range. It can be stitched to have a positive deflection, and after loading and screening can have zero deflection, unlike the "Smiley Beams". You can use 3/16" gusset corners and customize on the fly, No more welded corners. It also uses an extruded base casting, no more welded bases. This saves the contractor additional money & has more ease of use compared to similar products.
